UAE Public Holidays 2026 for Government & Private Sector Employees
The UAE Cabinet has confirmed the official public holiday schedule for 2026, applicable to both government and private sector employees across all seven Emirates, under Cabinet Resolution No. (27) of 2024.

Residents of the UAE will enjoy 7 official public holiday occasions in 2026:

*Islamic holiday dates depend on moon sighting and will be officially confirmed 1–2 days in advance by UAE authorities.
Eid-ul-Fitr Holiday Rule
Under the Cabinet’s resolution, if the Holy month of Ramadan completes 30 days, the 30th of Ramadan is also counted as an official holiday giving residents a 4-day Eid Al Fitr break (30th Ramadan + first 3 days of Shawwal). If Ramadan has only 29 days, residents get the first 3 days of Shawwal as holidays.
Eid-ul-Azha Holiday Rule
Residents can expect a 4-day break for Eid Al Adha as well this includes Arafat Day (9th Dhul Hijjah) plus the first 3 days of Eid Al Adha.
Important Note
Public holiday dates cannot be shifted to another day if they coincide with a weekend or another public holiday, as per Article 3 of the resolution. Employees are advised to confirm exact dates through official MOHRE or UAE government announcements closer to each occasion, since Islamic dates are subject to moon sighting.
